Wu Wei

Wu Wei

Over dit project

A commissioned tapestry for a beautiful old dutch house in Weesp. The sleek interior design gave room for a free form that flows and is alive. With its wondrous structures and golden color nuances,it is like a magical vegetation on the wall. It is also special to notice how this tapestry immediately improves the acoustics.

The literal meaning of Wu Wei is “not doing.” Acting by not acting can be interpreted by “acting without attachment to the result”. It has its origin in the TAO, the all-encompassing life energy, a philosophy originating in ancient China.

Material: handdyed and felted variety of wool types, silk, cotton and fabric remants
